This incredibly unique group class meets weekly online to learn about the world together! My travels to over 20 countries and living abroad have enabled me to connect with the group on a personal level as we "travel" from country to country. We learn about everything from flags and flowers to languages and currency. Time always flies as we discuss maps, climates, exotic animals, music, art, sports, terrains, weather, traditions, and foods we have never seen before. We may be taking turns reading in our "Countries of the World" book, or looking up images of exotic animals that match our country of the month. Filling in our passport books with information about each place we "visit" keeps us sharp for our trivia games. We even occasionally get surprises in the mail like tasty treats from a specific country, or art projects we can make with famous landmarks we have studied. We are all about celebrating cultural differences. Why is all this important? Because once you understand just how big and wonderful the world is, the more you can appreciate your place in it.
